PERFORMERS
Romina Kostare is an accomplished violinist holding both a Bachelor's Degree in Violin Performance from the University of Arts in Tirana, Albania, and a Master’s Degree in Violin Performance from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Romina has studied under the tutelage of renowned violinists such as Charles Treger at UMASS and Roman Totenberg at BU. Currently, Romina is a member of both the Springfield Symphony and Hartford Symphony Orchestra in the first violin section. Beyond her performance career, Romina's passion for music extends to teaching, as she serves as the violin instructor at Mount Holyoke College.
Lusun Friedman was born in Beijing, China, and began playing violin at age 7 before moving to California at age 12, eventually building her career in the American Northeast. Ms. Friedman has worked extensively as a professional orchestral violinist as a member of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra and the Springfield (MA) Symphony Orchestra, and as a chamber musician, as a member of the Mosaic Trio. Through the Mosaic Trio, she works closely with local youth, teaching and performing in Hartford public schools to demonstrate how classical music can enrich everyday lives.
Peter Zay is an accomplished musician recognized for his versatility across orchestral, chamber, and solo performances. He serves as Principal Cellist of the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra and is a core cellist of the Hartford and New Bedford Symphony Orchestras. He is a member of the New World Trio (Connecticut) and the duo Larksgove, playing both cello and guitar. Peter has appeared with leading ensembles including the Boston Lyric Opera, the Springfield and Portland Symphonies, the Rhode Island Philharmonic, Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, and the Boston Modern Orchestra Project. He has toured with renowned artists such as Diana Krall, Linda Ronstadt, and Andrea Bocelli as well as European tours with the American Sinfonietta. He holds degrees from the Hartt School and Manhattan School of Music.
