PERFORMERS
Romina Kostare grew up in Tirana, Albania, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Performance from the University of Tirana. She has performed with several prestigious ensembles, including the Tirana Opera and Ballet Theater Orchestra and the University of Arts Faculty Chamber Orchestra. Her passion for chamber music emerged during her student years as a member of the Albanian Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, with whom she toured extensively throughout Europe. In 1998, Romina moved to Amherst, Massachusetts, to continue her studies at the University of Massachusetts, where she earned a Master’s Degree in Violin Performance under the mentorship of Professor Charles Treger. A former fellow of the renowned Tanglewood Music Center, Romina is currently a member of both the Springfield Symphony Orchestra and the Hartford Symphony Orchestra.
Ronald Gorevic has had a long and distinguished career as a performer and teacher on both the violin and viola. As a violist, he has been a member of several well known string quartets over a twenty-year period, during which he covered most of the quartet repertoire. He has toured throughout the US, Germany, Japan, Korea, and Australia and has been broadcast on radio stations across the US, South and Southwest German radio, and the Australian Broadcast network. As a violinist he has performed recitals in major US cities, including New York, Cleveland, Chicago, and Atlanta. He has also performed in London, where he gave the British premieres of pieces by Donald Erb and Ned Rorem. As a member of the Prometheus Piano Quartet, he has recorded piano quartets of Saint-Saens and D’Indy for Centaur Records. As a member of the Chester String Quartet, he has recorded string quartets by Barber, Quincy Porter, and Walter Piston for Koch International. He is currently on the faculties of Smith College and University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Peter Zay is an accomplished musician recognized for his versatility across orchestral, chamber, and solo performances. He serves as Principal Cellist of the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra and is a core cellist of the Hartford and New Bedford Symphony Orchestras. He is a member of the New World Trio (Connecticut) and the duo Larksgove, playing both cello and guitar. Peter has appeared with leading ensembles including the Boston Lyric Opera, the Springfield and Portland Symphonies, the Rhode Island Philharmonic, Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, and the Boston Modern Orchestra Project. He has toured with renowned artists such as Diana Krall, Linda Ronstadt, and Andrea Bocelli as well as European tours with the American Sinfonietta. Festival engagements include Taos, Aspen, Yellow Barn, Bellingham, and Wintergreen. He holds degrees from the Hartt School and Manhattan School of Music.
